Q: What is an electronic book (e-book)?

A: An e-book is simply an electronic document containing text and/or images that resembles a paper book. It can be read from your computer screen, or it can be printed for reading. We offer a PDF (portable document file) version. If you do not have software to read this type of document, your computer should prompt you to download the software from the Internet (you must be connected to the Internet at that time).

Q: How will I access my electronic book?

A: After purcasing the book with a credit card, you will receive an e-mail receipt which will have a link to a special page with a PDF version available.  If you do not have software to read this type of document, your computer should prompt you to download the software from the Internet (you must be connected to the Internet at that time)

Q: How do I know the authors are credible?

A: Please follow the link below "About the Authors". There is a link on that page that validates Dr. Davis' medical license with the State of South Carolina, and a link to a recently published article by Dr. Keller.

Q: Why did I receive a link to download an e-book when I purchased a paperback and/or audio version? A: We provide a complimentary copy of the e-book to customers who buy versions that must be shipped. Some customers are dealing with urgent medical issues and need the information immediately. They can begin reading the e-book while the other versions are in the mail. Q: Do you offer express shipping?

A: Currently, we do not offer express shipping. Most products arrive within 3-5 days with standard US postal service shipping. We do know that the content of this book may be urgently need by readers, which is why each order comes with a downloadable e-book. The reader can begin to learn about end-of-life care while waiting for the paperback and/or audio version to arrive.

Q: After purchase, I did not receive an e-mail giving me a link to my electronic book. What should I do?

A: Check your e-mail account that it is working properly for receiving e-mails. Some Spam-guards may route our e-mail into a spam folder. Make sure that you enter the proper e-mail address and that there is enough memory to accept the e-mail. If that fails, please e-mail us with your name, purchase date and the details of your problem. We will reply within the day.

Q: "Adventure Medical Services, LLC" appears on my credit card statement. What is this?

A: Adventure Medical Services, LLC is Dr. Davis' professional operating company. At the Close of Day is a very grassroots and personal mission.  The business side of the project is handled by a few individuals without the commercial pressures of a large publishing house.
